What a life David led! As a boy he had enough faith to believe that if God was with him, empowering his every move, he could do anything. With this faithful belief, he slew Goliath as the giant of a man mocked and taunted him. God continued to bless David as a king with great power and wealth, and he was called “a man after God’s own heart.”
The power and wealth, intended to bless his life, ended up turning David’s heart away from God. When his focus shifted away from the Source of blessing, David was left standing on some serious shifting sand. Even this mighty warrior, a man full of faith, made some terrible choices that affected all of those around him, especially his family. We all need to understand that when we decide to do anything in our own strength and turn away from God, we, too, can expect to reap what we sow. Let’s be men and women after God’s own heart with no regrets!

Be with us at 6:00 p.m. every Sunday for Men’s Fraternity and The Amazing Collection (for women). These great discipleship studies are excellent opportunities for Singles to grow in the Lord.
May 3 we plan to have a Saturday Night Fellowship at Gene and Pat Ward’s house on 141 Kimberly Drive in Travelers Rest at 7:00 p.m. Come for a great time together!

We look forward to helping out with the Center for Developmental Services’ Children’s Carnival on June 6. This Carnival helps to raise funds to children with special needs. We need volunteers to go with us to help! This activity should be a lot of fun and will be a huge boost to the children of the Center, so please plan on going with us. There will be a signup sheet in our BFGs, and you can also get more information from Mary Cunningham by emailing her at mzmac67@yahoo.com.
